Husky motocross bikes dominated the World Championships in the 1960s and 1970s, winning twelve championships in the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc classes. They have also won 24 Enduro World Championships since 1990, and won their first World Supermoto Championship in 2005 according to VintageMX. For the safety and welfare of the public, Prairie City SVRA strictly prohibits the use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), or drones, in all areas of the park without prior written approval from the California State Parks Gold Fields District Superintendent. Such approval may, for example, be granted to California State agencies for official uses, including scientific research. The California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division has been gran...ted permission to fly drones at Prairie City SVRA for official training purposes, and often does so on Wednesdays, when the park is closed to the public. We recently tagged along with one of OHMVR’s licensed UAS pilots as he captured aerial footage from several areas throughout the park. We hope you enjoy the highlights. Happy Earth Day! On this small but beautiful slice of Earth that we know as Prairie City SVRA, a great egret wades gracefully in the shallow waters of one of our seasonal, vernal pool wetlands. These birds wait patiently to spear unsuspecting prey of frogs and other small aquatic animals with lightning-fast jabs of their sharp, dagger-like bills, before swallowing them whole. #EarthDay2020 #CalEarthDay50 #CaStateParks

Here is a quick safety tip for folks riding over the turkey break.

Prairie City SVRA, and other parks units will be offering free admission to both Active and Reserve Military Personnel for Veterans Day, November 11th, 2019. Please bring either a valid military ID or proof of discharge to the kiosk.
