Dr. Tortland was honored to be part of a highly esteemed list of international faculty at this past weekend's TOBI: The Orthobiologic Institute 11th annual rege...nerative medicine symposium, held for the first time virtually, due to Covid. TOBI is one of the country's premier meetings for the teaching of Orthobiologic and regenerative medicine treatments, and for the presentation of new research in the area. It attracts speakers and attendees from around the world. There were dozens of excellent lectures on the use of PRP (platelet-rich plasma), bone marrow, and fat-derived cell-based treatments for helping to treat musculoskeletal conditions including arthritis, tendon & sports injuries, and pain. Dr. Tortland participated in a spirited debate with John Ferrell MD on whether to centrifuge or not centrifuge bone marrow prior to treatment. He was also part of a panel discussion on the use of bone marrow concentrate. Dr. Tortland is a nationally recognized leader in the field of non-surgical orthopedics, sports medicine, and regenerative medicine.
