Anyone needing an angel today? I have a real life one for ya! :) Something funny about my childhood was that I was OBSESSED with angels. I actually used to pray every night that at some point I would be able to visually see a real life angel. I even went so far as to imagine them coming out of the sky when the sunsets were really pretty and my mom said I would run into the house all excited yelling I think the angels are coming - come see! ... These days, I see a world full of pain, anxiety, sadness, death, arguing, turmoil, hurt, war, a planet that is self-destructing and my prayers aren’t far off from those when I was a child. Thankfully, what Ive learned some 40 years later, is that I’m surrounded by angels all of the time. They come in the form of friends and clients, family members that were close to, deceased loved ones that I feel surrounding me on really hard days. They DO exist! Even if we can’t always see their wings... A huge thank you to @leahmariacouture @leahmariaofficial for the loan of THESE wings for this sweet angel of a human @jadelizroper Sending you all some angel-love today. We all need some right now I feel.

So Ms Jade @jadelizroper is one of the first celebrity women I’ve ever worked with. I’ve photographed a lot of women from many backgrounds and I love how down-to-earth and sweet this woman is! She’s a small town girl like me - from the prairies of Nebraska - and just couldn’t be more genuine and sweet. Who watched her season of the Bachelor?? I was SO rooting for her but the Universe has a MUCH better plan thanks to @tanner.tolbert. We were supposed to do maternity photos fo...r her second child, but instead, he decided to be born early - in their closet!! Lol So when she got pregnant with baby #3 we made it a point to do photos early and with the hope of no closet shenanigans! I’m SO glad that we did because I’m obsessed with her angel wings photos. Leah Marie Couture @leahmariacouture @leahmariaofficial loaned us these wings for the shoot and I’m pretty sure they’ll be in my maternity closet soon. Just as soon as I have an extra $1800 to pay for them but man they are worth every penny as you can see. What does your fantasy maternity shoot look like?

Just one more he kept saying to me even though I knew I had already taken this one. The one he was asking for. But I happpily obliged as I watched a brand new daddy fall in love more and more with every tiny breath, yawn, wiggle, sigh, grasp. These moments take my breath away completely. To all the newborn daddies out there - never ever underestimate your place in your newborns life. I know it feeeeels at times like they don’t need you as much because mommy has the milk but trust me - they know the difference between your smell and her smell, your heartbeat and her heartbeat, your voice and her voice. Your love and her love. And yours is SO incredibly important.

This sweet fathers love for his new baby boy is one of the most precious things I’ve ever witnessed during a newborn session. He was by my side ready to help me hold, pose and keep him safe throughout the entire two hour session under a heater! This baby boy is being raised by the most adoring family and I am SO honored to be their photographer. Wait until you see the next pic! #heartmelting
