Goodbye Calpine! We want to thank the great supporters we had and the the amazing shows we did with Chris Robinson, Mother Hips, Karl Denson's Tiny Universon, Bros Comatose, Monophonics, Motet, Thievery Corp and so many others...it was damn fun. We will announce our new locale shortly where we will NOT have to contend with a community-killer like Janet Baldridge...Goodbye Folks and thanks for the memories!

UPDATE: After the Planning ruling was deemed illegal,we were granted another hearing but the Commission pushed back the new hearing out so far that our summer festivals are not possible (they were aware of the timing) So, No more SV Folks. Sierra County, this is exactly why this County is LAST in economic growth and how your current Commissioners can grant themselves raises why the rest of the county suffers. The current Planning & Treasury people look at the rest of us as people to pay for their whims. Sad that SVL is now closed after 140 years of being a public venue. Great Job Planning Commissioner Janet Baldridge as your lasting contribution to the county will be well remembered!

Well Sierra County the one positive thing your political leaders has done this month is vote themselves a raise! Yes, a raise even though the county continues to shrink in population and economic output, your leaders voted themselves a raise - including Van Maddox your treasurer who counts and decides your tax bill by drive by raised his monthly pay to $11,647.00! Another reason to love Sierra County Politicians: Van Maddox, the county Treasurer just sent us a new bill for hotel room tax to the sum $34,035.00 based upon his "observations" that we were always at full occupancy (we have an online room system spits out a computerized itemization but Van thinks driving by is better than a computer printout). This is the same Van Maddox that is listed as a state sex abuser and who stole a girl out of foster care. GREAT PERSON TO TRUST WITH MONEY.
