Due to the state mandated shutdowns in portions of California, hundreds of thousands of small businesses have been forcibly closed down and millions of employees have been laid off or let go with minimal unemployment to support them over the holidays. As we approach the second year of COVID-19’s impact, the state of California has yet to develop alternatives to manage virus spikes except to shut down business sectors. With no scientific data to support the state’s theory tha...t the virus upticks are arising from activities such as outdoor dining, and limited capacities at salons and gyms, these arbitrarily closed industries are joining in what will be the nation’s largest Small Business Protest March on Saturday, December 12 at 12 noon in West Hollywood. The Redding Chamber team stands in solidarity with the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Open & Safe California Coalition, which we are a part of. While we cannot participate in the march, we will act as March Ambassadors by wearing green today, Saturday, December 12th and by spreading the message.
