Market news July secondary home sales jumped 24.7% from June to 5.86 million, the highest monthly rate since 2006, according to the National Association of Realtors! Sales are up 8.7% since July 2019, a good sign. The average price of secondary housing for all types in July was $304,100, which is 8.5% higher than in July 2019 ($ 280,400).... The total housing stock was 1.50 million homes, down 21.1% from last year and 2.6% down from June. They build less than the demand for objects. Home sales continued to skyrocket in September reaching a record high in June and hitting their highest monthly rate since 2006. The housing market has been a bright spot for the economy in recent months, with record low mortgage rates adding fuel to competition in home buying that was already smoldering before the coronavirus hit. The result of the increased demand for homes has finally begun to show in sales and closed deals. Despite the pandemic, current home sales are surprisingly just 4.7 percent lower than last year and are likely to continue into the near future. However, the long-term outlook for sales is somewhat dimmer. A severe housing shortage, especially at lower prices, could force these significant improvements to slow, especially if heightened economic uncertainty begins to weigh on home buyers.
