Traveling next week? Traveling with kids is never easy and, if you’re a mom, you’re typically carrying 20 lbs of things to keep everybody happy. Giving them their own travel backpacks with their on the road playthings, snacks and comfort toys makes it super simple. I started doing this when foraging through my bag by husband and kids meant I got to Hawaii without my phone and work planner. Too many hands and too many things in my mom bag meant my stuff landed on a lobby seat and just didn’t make it back in. And when you get where you’re going, you have their play kit all bagged up. They get a little independence and you regain control of your bag. Total travel harmony. We carry Petit Collage backpacks because they’re adorable, well sized, waterproof and comfortable to wear.

Chickens are the closest living relative to the T. Rex. Yup. Weird, huh? If your kids are chicken obsessed (it’s a thing), here are a few fun chicken facts: 1) Mama chicken talks to her unborn chicks and they peep back to her through their eggs; 2) chickens can distinguish among more than 100 faces from members of their own flock; 3) chickens use around 24 different vocalizations to tell each what they see and how they feel. Bok-Bok!

When you’re over bears (it happens), the weird stuffed animals become an obsession. Current favorite? Big, blobby walruses. Gotta love a super social, goof ball of an animal that uses its teeth to haul itself out of the ocean. And its scientific name (Odobenus rosmarus) has the best meaningtooth walking seahorse! Love. But don’t even get us started on the sting ray stuffie, because it totally works as a hat.
