The lawsuit alleges that drivers cannot avoid seeing these messages whenever they open the app. It also says that drivers fear retaliation from Uber if they don't participate in the in-app surveys or say they support Proposition 22. President Donald Trump tried to assert executive power by signing four actions on coronavirus relief Saturday, one of which will provide as much as $400 in enhanced unemployment benefits after Democrats and the White House were unable to reach an agreement on a stimulus bill this week. But that memorandum on enhanced unemployment benefits -- 25% of which states are being asked to cover -- has more strings attached than the White House acknowledged and is seen as a cumbersome... effort that may not help a lot of the unemployed. Beautiful day in LA. Our office is located in DTLA but we’ve been working remotely since the pandemic outbreak. We are still going to our office to pick up our mail and deposit those settlement checks for our clients! If you are going to file a wrongful termination lawsuit against your employer in the LA County, you have the option of filing the lawsuit at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse located in DTLA. After the lawsuit is filed, you receive a case number and the initial confe...rence will be scheduled few months later. The trial is usually scheduled at the initial conference. Prior to the trial, the parties (you and the company) have the opportunity to engage in civil discovery which includes written discovery and depositions. Most of the employment cases get settled before the trial either through an informal settlement or private mediation. Due to the pandemic, the depositions and mediations are being conducted via zoom. How much you receive for the settlement is not only determined by what occurred to you during your employment. In other words, don’t think just because you were harassed/discriminated at work, you should receive a certain amount. The settlement is also determined by what you did to mitigate your damages post-employment by looking for other jobs and whether you have documentation to support your emotional distress claim.
