As just published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Carr was a part of a groundbreaking study of Oral Immunotherapy (OIT) for patients with a history ...of peanut allergy. Of note is that before treatment, none of the participants tolerated more than a 30-mg dose of peanut protein. If we translate that into peanuts where one whole peanut kernel contains approximately 250300 mg of peanut protein this means that, before treatment, none of the participants tolerated more than approximately 1/10 of a peanut. To learn more facts about peanut allergy and what is being done to treat it, look at the latest research Dr. Warner Carr was a part of, as published in the New England Journal of Medicine. #PeanutAllergy #NEJM #OIT http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1812856 See more
