Responding to COVID-19 After carefully considering guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health, as well as the Executive Order to shelter in place provided by the Governor, we have made the decision to suspend in-person therapy sessions until further notice. Our priority during this time is to minimize the interruption in the care of our patients. As such, our therapists will be reaching out to their current patients to arrange for telephone or on-line ses...sions. As always, current patients may contact their therapist directly at any time. For other questions or inquires, please call (530) 891-4400 or email [email protected]. Learn more: https://covid19.ca.gov
A note from Dr. Stephen Diggs regarding Treating the Difficult Client - A Nysa Therapy Seminar: "I hope you will join us on next month for hands-on learning and practice in moving therapy forward with difficult clients. At Nysa Therapy, we design our trainings to meet therapists within the context of their everyday work and real scenarios. You will not get hours of complex theory and abstract concepts. We are committed to making it easy for you to apply what you learn in your... own practice. On November 15, we will explore methods to treat the source of the problem and to create change - not just relief - for our clients. I look forward to sharing this work with you." Let us know if you have any questions related to the event, and thank you for joining us. Register here: https://nysa-difficult-client-seminar.eventbrite.com/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=eTiukk-08qI One of Nysa Therapy's core practices is to shift the therapeutic focus from behavior to the defensive structure. You can hear Dr. Diggs dive deeper into this concept in this brief video.
One of the ways Nysa Therapy has learned to work with personality disorders is by separating them into one of two categories: Separation or Attachment. If you would like to learn more about this concept check out this blog written by Adam Aaronson. http://www.nysatherapy.com//separation-vs-attachment-based
