Focus First’s Journal Challenge 2021 We are currently focusing on improving our qualities of life during this stressful time by focusing our energy on what is r...ight, what is helpful and what brings joy to your heart. If you scroll back thru my recent posts I shared some information about self harm behaviors that we don’t necessarily anyways identify as harmful. Spend afew moments mulling over your daily routine. Are there any parts of your routine that you might delay or replace with a self care act? For example before I eat anything sugary I take afew deep breaths and drink a glass of water. I let myself have whatever I want but I eat less when my body feels relaxed and hydrated. It helps me reduce the amount of emotional eating I do considerably. I was listening to a podcast recently that encouraged doing 40 self care activities a day. There are lots of self care that takes less than a minute. Taking vitamins, deep breathing, a couple minutes of stretching out, walking 10 min outdoors. Of course showering, eating healthy, teeth brushing all of normal daily routine is included as well so the list isn’t as challenging as it feels at first glance. Do you think you are up to 40 acts of self care a day? Now think of that part of your day that makes you feel less than great. What kind of small self care activities can you wrap around it by doing them just before and after to help lessen the blow? It feels like insulating yourself from stress. Thanks so much for tuning in. I’ll be back on video on a day this week where none of my kids go to the ER. Don’t worry he is going to be just fine. This Mom gets a little stressed when either of my boys don’t feel good. What can you do right? Life man. I’ll try again tomorrow! Have a great night everyone. See more

Focus First Journal Challenge Organizing your thoughts is much easier in a clean, organized environment. Getting organized is a process. I started with 10 min ...a day. Setting the priority will make a difference and dedicating a manageable amount of time to it daily will keep you from being overwhelmed, keeping the goal within your reach. What goals do you have for organizing your home? Do not ignore projects that seem too big. It’s ok to break a large project into a daily project for several months. Set your sights high for an environment you look forward to returning to when your gone. If you have time do a google or Pinterest search on organizational ideas to help motivate and inspire you. Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today has been a day that tested my resolve and the strength of my head literally, I have a goose egg and I will survive. Every time I... turned around I was faced with a problem including issues with today’s video so instead of a video I’m posting this gratitude note. This is a great way to keep a running total of what is going right, who is there for you as well as tracks special memories. Gratitude improves our mental health, of self-worth, improves our sleep and negates our own toxic emotions like jealousy, resentment and frustration. I hope this helps anyone out there struggling to cope through this difficult time. Please reach out and comment any questions, concerns or journal topic ideas. Thank you so much for participating in Focus First’s Journal Challenge 2021. See more

Unfortunately I am exhausted. I’m not one to do things halfway so I am submitting today’s journal challenge via written post. Mountain climbing is an adventure ...that requires rest for a day. I regret nothing but I do apologize. Today’s journal question is how often do you allow yourself to fully rest and recharge your batteries? Please leave any questions, comments or journal topics in the comments section. Thank you so much for participating in this years journal challenge. See you tomorrow! See more
