Fancy nighttime satellite imagery shows much drier air in our region. Those few white patches are low marine stratus clouds. 24 hours ago most of the Bay Area & Monterey Bay was covered in stratus, but that's not the case now!

Everywhere you look (everywhere you look) there's stratus. Another cloudy night is in store for the City by the Bay and much of the region as the marine layer deepens and promotes more inland stratus. Could see a few misty spots on the coast again by morning! #CaWx

Skies quickly cleared this morning over the North Bay and continue to rapidly clear this afternoon in the City as the dry air mass begins to move in to the region. Winds are also starting to pick up in the high-elevation areas of the North Bay. #CaWx #CaFire

More details of the upcoming wind and fire weather event. Here's a look at one computer model. First let's take a look at winds (L image) - Wind will rapidly increase early Sunday and peak Sunday evening into Monday morning. Winds will be gusty in the hills and valleys. Now for the fire weather threat - as the north winds kick in watch the humidity values plummet (pink <10%) (R image). Gusty winds + low humidity + crispy dry fuels = very critical fire weather conditions. Be alert and have a plan. #cawx #cafire #OneLessSpark
