Hi Friends! In case you missed last weekend's adoption event, Dogma Animal Rescue will be here today from 11-3 with some amazing dogs looking for their forever homes.

Kiki and Luke have spent the month of December resting up and recovering from nasty kennel cough, Now they're both ready for adoption. Kiki is a 2 year old Ger...man Shepherd/Basset Hound x. She has tiny, short legs, a big long body, huge ears and a brindle coat. She weighs around 45 pounds, seems house trained, is good on leash, loves the car, and is a total lap dog. Luke is an 8 month old Boston Terrier x. Luke is a small guy, weighing in around 15-18 pounds. He has a Boston look, but with a unique brindle coat. Luke walks well on leash and loves the car. He seems to know basic commands and wil never turn down a warm lap. Both are listed on our website, dogmaanimalrescue.org, and will be available at our January 3rd adoption event at NorCal Pet Supply.

We are excited to have Dogma Animal Rescue, Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County and K9 Activity Club here at the store this Saturday from 11-3. It's going to be a great pet adoption event and we hope to see you there!

It's been a successful day so far for Portraits for Pits. They are going to make a lot of pet parents happy this Christmas! Thanks to all that came down to get your hand painted portrait!

Final update: The mom and puppies needing rescue are safe. There were actually two moms with litters in danger, but I didn't want to make a sad situation worse.... Today another rescue in the Sacramento area committed to BOTH families and the shelter agreed to keep them alive until Friday when someone can drive down to get them. On Friday they will be transported to their rescue. I am currently at the Charles Schultz airport waiting for our mom and litter to arrive. There are also two pregnant dogs resting in the car and the little Chi dog is with a temp foster until we get through the holiday. It's been a stressful week, but everything has been happily resolved. I'll post pictures of the new Dogma dogs shortly. Happy Thanksgiving from Dogma Central! Update 11/26/2014: Another rescue has placed on hold on this family and will so their best to get them out of the shelter. Update 11/24/14: OK, just got word, mom and pups have been assigned a euthanasia date. We need to have a firm foster commitment in place before Thanksgiving. No one has stepped up for this family. This family has NOT been rescued and are nearly out of time. We do everything we can to rescue these endangered animals to the best of our ability, but we cannot accept animals without a safe place for them to go. Foster is still needed. Foster needed! When it rains it pours! In the past week Dogma has accepted 17 dogs, many newborns. We were contacted this morning from another shelter trying to find a rescue for this cute little Chi and her four 2-3 week old puppies. We need to find a foster home that can accomodate this family for the next 2 months or so. Dogma provides all needed supplies and vet care at our vet in Santa Rosa. The foster family provides socialization, and transportation to any vet appointment, and to and from adoption events. If you can help, please email [email protected]. Update: Just learned that they were picked up on a sidewalk and delivered in Animal Control truck! One will certainly be named Shel Silverstein. This little 12 ...pound Manchester Terrier and her six, day old puppies, were just surrendered to a shelter in Central Valley. Is anyone able to foster this group? We'll cover all expenses, you just care for the mama and litter for the next couple months until they are old enough to adopt. Please email [email protected] if you can help.
