He is tired of all the evil in the world. He is tired of all the pain in the world. He wants to fix it, BUT you must be willing to let Him. He is there to help you once you stop pretending with Him. Excerpts from Will Grahams book, Redeemed. TIME . . . is the greatest resource that you and I have. A wealthy man cannot buy any more of it, no matter how much money he has. Scientist cannot discover or create more, and factories cannot produce more. With every new day you have less of it than you did the day before. You cannot save any of today to spend tomorrow. You cannot grip it so tightly that it will not slip away. You can only use it when you have it, and then... it’s gone forever. The Bible tells us a couple of things about time. First, it reminds us that time is short. Think of stepping outside on a cold morning. You slowly exhale and then watch a warm mist escapes your lungs, only to disappear quickly into the frigid air. That is how James describes our time on earth, calling our lives, a vapor appears for a little time and then vanishes away (James 4:14). Second, it reminds us how to use our short time on this earth, See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16). Since our time is limited, we need to be aware of how we are using it and focused on impacting a dark world with the light of Jesus in the days we have. My grandfather, Billy Graham, once said, One of the greatest surprises of his life was the brevity of it. Here was a man who used every moment well, and yeteven living a centuryhe was amazed at how quickly it slipped away. Today is a gift, and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Allow me, Chaplain Steve, to ask all of usHow are we using our short time on earth for the Kingdom and for glory of God? Will our short time on earth have eternal value? I pray so!
