Kabbalah Centre Charitable Causes 20.05.2021

This week, Kabbalah Centre Spiritual Director Karen Berg, along with many Kabbalah Centre volunteers, are visiting Sunrise Day Camp -- a summer day camp for children with cancer and their healthy siblings. Sunrise Day Camp provides a safe and nurturing environment to rejuvenate, have fun, create friendships and build peace. On behalf of our global community, The Kabbalah Centre would like to thank Sunrise Day Camp for the chance to participate in the good work they are doing, and for giving us such a tremendous opportunity to share.

Habitat for Humanity recently visited the village of Pipaltar in Kavre district to help clear debris from the Nepal earthquake. With support from partners like Kabbalah Centre Charitable Causes, Habitat for Humanity has been able to provide hundreds of families in Nepal with temporary shelter kits, and will soon begin to rebuild permanent homes for families in need. We are so grateful to Habitat for Humanity for the many opportunities they give our global community to be involved in the inspiring work they are doing in the world.

The children in these photos are just a few of the 100 children who recently received their new school uniforms, backpacks and school supplies from Kabbalah Centre Charitable Causes' (KCCC) Habitat for Humanity village in Sri Lanka. The tallest girl is named Aruntha. Last year, Aruntha held a poor attendance record as she didn’t have enough bus fare to cover her trip to school each day. She also was lacking in books and school materials. When the teacher went looking for her,... Aruntha was found doing household chores at home. All this combined affected her studies and her desire to go to school. Recently, with the support of KCCC, the teacher says there has been a dramatic improvement in Aruntha’s studies, with her attendance record now at 94% attendance. The teacher added that not only is Aruntha showing interest in her studies and extracurricular activities at school, but is also going for extra classes in English and Mathematics within the village. She and her family finally seem committed towards ensuring a sustained education, and she has recently decided she wants to become a school teacher.
