Another police officer murdered in America. Please pray for the police in America. This is the second murder of a police officer in America in two days.

Pray for our police in America keep these police officers and their families in your thoughts and prayers. It’s time for President Trump to sign an Executive Order making killing a police officer a Federal crime.

We wish those who are leaving well and don’t blame them for leaving. As the anti police forces continue to grow in violent protest with police and calls to defund police forces around the country, officers are quitting police work in record numbers in America. Week 23 of Covid: California is in Phase 2.5 of a statewide lock down. Carelessness and negligence, not washing your hands, not wearing a protective mask, lack of social distancing, are keeping our Covid numbers up. California Covid numbers is getting better but State officials still feels its high. We are seeing more and more people and traffic out on the streets. Even street crime is back on the rise. We witnessed a car break in during our leisurely walk in Fishermans ...Wharf. It only took about 5 seconds for the criminal to break the window, take the two back packs in the back seat and jump into the get away car. It happened so fast that it took our minds longer to process what just happened than the 5 seconds it took to break into that car Resturants in the Bay Area are still closed for inside dining. Everything is take away only. So we are not able to continue with our monthly brunch meetings at our two locations. So for September we will have a Zoom meeting instead. We did it in July and some members said Sunday was not a good day for them. I will post the date of our Zoom meeting in two weeks. Today’s News: Local American politicians have started defunding their police forces. As our post yesterday said, don’t depend on the police to protect you. Watch your own back and defend yourself.

New York City (and most major US cities) is sinking into a pit of chaos and crime. If the police do their job then they are attacked. If the police defend themselves from attack then THEY are arrested. Police work has changed in America. When the police are not safe then no one is safe. Police are so hated in America. Sad state of affairs. It will take years to build back the trust with our community again.

Our Region did our first virtual monthly brunch meeting utilizing the free online conference app: Zoom It was a success! We had 25 members showed up online for our first ever virtual IPA R9 members meeting. One of our members invited an UK IPA member Adrian to our Zoom meeting. It was great to hear from him and how life in the UK is going about under Corvid-19. US Section 3rd VP and Travel Secretary, Carmen Alvelo also had asked to join our meeting and she spoke abo...ut IPA Travel and the current situation in NYC where she lives and how Covid-19 was affecting her everyday life. It was awesome meeting catching up with our attending members who have been locked in their homes for over a month. There was interesting talk about the future of IPA and the future of travel amid this new World threat: Pandemics. Thank you to all who attended our first virtual members meeting. We are all separated together and will come out stronger from this. We look forward to seeing everybody again ...in person.
