This is just another way the COVID-19 pandemic has struck our already vulnerable LGBTQ+ community especially hard. We're here to help. Find LGBTQ+ friendly resources here https://covid19.eqca.org/
We love to see it! Arlando S. Teller, who is openly LGBTQ+ and a member of the Navajo Nation, will serve as the U.S. Department of Transportation’s deputy assistant secretary for tribal affairs, alongside Secretary Pete Buttigieg!
For two decades, Equality California has worked to sponsor and pass pro-equality state legislation in Sacramento including regulations that ensure protections for LGBTQ+ students and require programs aimed at making California schools safer and more supportive. Through Equality California Institute’s Safe and Supportive Schools Survey and our Equality California Mentorship Corps, we are actively helping achieve schools that are safe and supportive and that give every student regardless of background, zip code, sexual orientation or gender identity a shot at success.
"No more death. No more transmission. No more stigma against people living with HIV." Rick Chavez Zbur. Equality California is committed to ending stigma against people living with HIV by educating legislators and mobilizing the LGBTQ+ community, and those who are disproportionately impacted by HIV. In partnership with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, we work to support state-based HIV and LGBTQ+ organizations across the country in their work to modernize outdated, ineffective and discriminatory laws that criminalize people living with HIV.
Kenny and Yar Zar's story has truly moved us. Their love has survived a two year separation, Trump's travel ban and a coup in Myanmar and now they are fighting to be reunited.
Our democracy depends on it.
We may be tired. We may be stressed, but we cannot stop. Today the Supreme Court will hear Fulton v. City of Philadelphia which will decide if the Constitution protects the right to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people on religious grounds. Our work is not done.
Today is the day to make our voices heard at the polls! We are voting for our lives! We must fight for change and not for business as usual because for too many "business as usual" means a world where we ignore racial inequities all in the name of comfort. We must demand a world that is healthy, just and fully equal for LGBTQ+ people AND the diverse communities to which we belong. Check out our endorsed pro-equality candidates here eqca.org/elections
