Redwood City Elks Members, San Mateo County has extended the Shelter-In-Place (SIP) through the end of May. However, they have also relaxed and amended the SIP orders to allow for more outdoor activities, including golf. Golf courses can open next Monday, May 4th, provided strict guidelines and procedures are followed. The Golf Committee and the Lodge Leadership is working to make this happen. The health and safety of our members and employees is paramount and we want to op...en correctly, following the guidelines provided by the County of San Mateo. Tomorrow afternoon another blast will go out detailing how our golf course will reopen and the new rules, protocols, and social distancing requirements that must be observed. There are a lot of questions to be answered... please wait until after reading tomorrow afternoon's missive before calling or emailing Amy, Paul, Joe, or the Golf Committee. We will be as thorough and clear as possible in letting you know how this is going to roll out. Thank you for your patience. Fraternally, Amy G, Exalted Ruler Paul B, House Committee Chair RWC Elks Golf Committee and Joe S, ProShop Manager

Emerald Hills Elks Golf Club It was a glorious day at Santa Teresa - we were treated to beautiful weather and quite a few deer. The tournament drew 23 Elk competitors and all the deer made it out unscathed, allegedly. The Booker family did their best to win everything - in the end, Kevin and Christine won their respective flights. Steve Forsyth crushed one drive - good thing it was the Long Drive hole! Mr. Bob Swenson (15’ 2) and our Secretary Matt Talistu (10’ 10) each wo...n a Closest to the Hole. MarkMorache had the fewest (30) putts in the field - well done! Randy Talistu, Paul Bourque and Eddy Granados all came in 2nd in their respective flights. We also were fortunate to have the company of Lyle Personette, Kenny Booker and Beau Sullivan as Guests of the EHEGC. Thank you to everyone for a very entertaining year, culminating with our annual banquet at the Lodge last month - special thanks go out to Jim Wassermann, Bob Swenson and Matt Talistu for all the hard work they put in annually! See y’all at the next tournament...and don’t forget: It’s surprisingly easy to hole a 50-foot putt when you’re laying 10. Jim Roake, Club Correspondent Next Tournament: Saturday, 12/06/14 at 10 am Moffett Field/Mountain View $65
