CYC will be facilitating a Foster Youth Bill of Rights workshop for the International Foster Care Alliance (IFCA). IFCA's mission is to advance the child welfare system through exchange of ideas, collaborative work, and creating connections across the globe. On Friday, Dec. 11th, from 3 PM to 5 PM, CYC will have the opportunity to present the development and progress of California's Foster Youth Bill of Rights and the advocacy of Assembly Bill 175 (Gipson), 1067 (Gipson), and... 899 (Liu). Facilitators will review the history of the bill of rights, various aspects of rights and its impact on foster youth wellness, and the role of California Office of the Foster Care Ombudsperson. Here are the following times & dates for the prep and the workshop: - Monday, Dec 7th (curriculum overview/T4T) - Wednesday, December 9th, (Rehearsal) - Friday, Dec. 11th, 3 PM-5 PM (Workshop) Application Deadline: - Friday, December 4th at 7pm Facilitators will receive a stipend of $16.50/hour up to 4 hrs for this leadership opportunity.
