Busy weekend for Uplift volunteers. Saturday food pantry distribution to more than 350 families at West Coast Islamic Center. On Sunday, warm clothing & blankets, boxed lunches, and hygiene kits handed to 170 Long Beach community members who are currently homeless with Urban Community Outreach. Thank you to the team Islamic Society of Orange County - ISOC for their partnership each winter and to the Institute of Knowledge community members who put together beautiful care packages which included hygiene items as well as mittens and scarves.

Having a car in Southern CA leads to accelerated self-sufficiency. We thank our donors who have donated cars in working shape to Uplift Charity over the years. We have now given more than 160 cars to families trying to get to self-sufficiency, thank you! The latest car was given just over a week ago. Check out the words from the thankful recipient.

Final opportunity to be counted and help our local area to get properly allocated government funding. The reality is, states that do a better job with the census will get a better allocation of funding. Act immediately as the count ends prematurely by order of the president in the early morning hours.

345 families picked up food at today’s drive through food pantry distribution in Anaheim at Masjid Al-Ansar We thank our volunteers for making this a successful program to assist thousands of people monthly. In particular, we would like to appreciate and recognize the family & friends of Raihan Dakhil who volunteered today. Raihan was one of the brightest case managers at Uplift. Her tragic passing, along with her husband and young son, occured last October. Please say a prayer for them and their families. Serving others to remember a loved one is truly inspiring.

Do you have an extra car you're willing to part with? If so, Uplift will pick it up from you and give it to a family who needs it. It's part of our self-sufficiency program. A car to you and me is an automatic. For those who face financial difficulties, taking multiple buses to work, or to drop off kids to school, or for hospital visits is common place.
