Dear daycare families, I wanted to touch base on the recent outbreak of the covid-19 virus and temporary changes I will be making to my childcare program. Out of abundance of caution, I will be taking the following measures to help ensure the safety of all daycare families, my family and myself during this time. Symptoms of the covid-19 virus: *dry cough ... *shortness of breath *fever *diarrhea Effective immediately, if your child presents as Ill, I will be sending them home at the onset of symptoms, which include: *fever over 99 *persistent cough *difficulty breathing *sore throat *runny nose with green/yellow discharge *diarrhea If your child develops any of these symptoms while at home, I ask that you keep them home until symptom free and/or they have seen a health professional and given a doctors note to return to care. I am going to be very strict on my illness policy with everything going on, so we can keep ourselves as well as others healthy. If at anytime I ask you to pick up your child from care, please come immediately to help with exposure to other littles in care. Any child sent home due to fever, diarrhea, or vomiting will be excluded from daycare until they have been symptom free and medication free for 48 hours. Your cooperation and understanding on this is very much appreciated. I will remain open during this time, if the time comes to where there is an outbreak in our county/Kern county due to the corona/covid-19, I will reconsider and determine the next appropriate steps to take, to keep everyone safe & healthy. I ask that everyone practice good hygiene and encourage regular hand washing with their children. I will be washing our hands more frequently as well as sanitizing and washing toys/bedding more frequently. If we work together, we can hopefully all stay healthy.
