Born in Delihi, I've seen the slums of Delhi. I have not however seen the impact of children living in them or what it means to them. As an organization that i supporting this cause, I look forward to engaging with them to learn more
Supporting Learning for Children in Rural India is enabling the only way out of poverty for many of these children.. and its my way of returning the privilege of the education I received in India as a child
Amazing Peru, from the sky...
Lima isn't just about the shanty towns and the poverty. There's much to see and experience in the city- Miraflores and Barrancos are fancy neighborhoods with all the major hotels and clubs. But there are also the museums , parks, fountains, churches, beaches , bars, and restaurants. The food is an amazing fusion of Spanish and Andean cultures - beef , fish and chicken being staple. They eat plantains ,potatoes and rice as part of many meals . The wonderful wines to go with ...meals come from chile , Argentina or Brazil and are easily found in most markets. But like most places, they have also been invaded by Mac Donald's , Burger King , Pizza Hut and the like. So if you get into that mood after a few days, these places are easy to find. People in Peru like to have fun - they are open, easy going and friendly. During the day, if they're not working they congregate in plazas and parks to relax , read , socialize and eat. At night , after 10pm though they're a different people. With some alcohol , they shed all Inhibitions and take to karaoke , clubs , dancing , music as naturally as breathing. If that's not your thing , Spotify and Netflix works just fine here so you can be at your Airbnb or hotel and listen to music or catch up on your favorite originals. All in all , a fun place to relax , unwind and let new experiences find you !
Meeting the men , women and children of the poorest of the poor in the Blue Mountain community , I realized that they are a proud people. They live in very modest homes , they don't beg, they don't ask for help , and they don't complain. They seek solutions and are ready to grasp at a hand outstretched to them to help - for themselves, for their children and their families. They are normal people - they love chocolates, they love to shake your hand , and to get to know you, a...nd to smile and drink a glass of beer with you, and to get their pictures taken. They haven't been fully engulfed in the ever increasing desires and wants of the modern society, simply because they can't afford it.. but it lends them an innocence that's hard to miss for someone coming from abroad but also true for those that live in the richest areas of Peru in Miraflores & Bronccos. And yet, they are happy, proud, want to better themselves and to build schools and day care centers and soup kitchens so they can take care of their families..
