Wifey and I had our prayer walk this morning on Azusa Street. We met Patrick a Japanese business owner, whose dad owned business beside the mission and Anthony ...a homeless man and frequent visitor who just landed a dream job and begins on Monday. These two men walked up to us and began sharing history and miracles on Azusa Street. As more people across the United States test positive for the novel coronavirus and as the death toll climbs, those experiencing homelessness are among the most vulnerable to contract the virus, experts say. Over 560,000 Americans were homeless on a single night in January 2019, according to the most recent point-time-count from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. About 63% of those people were in sheltered locations and about 37% were unsheltered, according... to HUD. All the ministers in my fellowship, are appealing to every minister and church in the United Pentecostal Church International to have special prayer regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Let’s focus our prayers on the following points: (1) Divine protection and healing for all people and especially for our constituents. (2) Wisdom for leaders to take appropriate action for our safety and security without causing panic. (3) Protection for our nation and church from adverse economic and political effects. (4) Opportunities to share God’s peace, healing, and salvation. 5. Pray for those who struggle with poverty and homelessness Especially families with children living in shelters transitional housing facilities and living in tent encampments who are not just dealing with this pandemic but the storm that is hitting skid row they along with the elderly and people with prexisting conditions . The homeless along with the elderly are our nations most vulnerable. They all Need our prayers and wisdom from God to deal with keeping the progression of covid19. Join with us in prayer for an end to this pandemic. 6. Due to the recommendation Of the CDC and the LA Homeless Service Association we will postpone our services in Skidrow for 2weeks . We will be monitoring closely and taking precautions to keep our volunteers and housing facilities safe from covid 19 We remain committed in our service to the poor, our ministers, and volunteers from our churches, and constituents, and welcome your questions and suggestions. In the meantime, let us pray for all that are and will be affected by this virus.
