Dear 61 MDS Beneficiaries, please see updates in regards to obtaining a flu vaccine below: o Active Duty Service Members: A flu line will be held at the Los Angeles AFB Football Field on Monday, 9 Nov 20 from 0800 1100. No registration required. Must wear a mask and bring a pen to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19. ... o Service Members who have obtained the flu vaccine off-base, must do one of the following: Drop-off documentation/record with 61 MDS (main entrance) Fax record to the Business Office at 310-653-6453 OR Send documentation/record to your provider team through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal at https://patientportal.mhsgenesis.health.mil o Children 6 months 36 months: Can receive the influenza vaccine at the El Segundo clinic on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hours are 0800 1500, closed from 1200 1300 for lunch. o All Other Beneficiaries: Flu vaccine can be obtained at any participating network pharmacy (e.g. Walgreens, Rite-Aid, WalMart, Kroger (Ralph’s), and Sam’s Club). Visit https://militaryrx.express-scripts.com/find-pharmacy to find a participating pharmacy near you. Call the pharmacy first to ask what days/times you can get the vaccine and who gives the vaccine. Only vaccines given by a Pharmacist are covered by the TRICARE Pharmacy benefit for free. We will provide an additional update once the flu vaccine becomes available at the 61 MDS for dependents and retirees.

As mentioned before, the 61st Medical Squadron will be moving to a new electric health record system known as MHS Genesis on Sept 26th, 2020. This program will have patient portal access and secure messaging similar to the current system. It is recommended that prior to the GO-Live date that you enroll in the patient portal to allow for a more seemless access transition. Patient Portal Access - To access the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, visit https://patientportal.mhsgenesis....health.mil -Beneficiaries can log in to the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal using their DS Logon. Premium Access (Level 2) is required to view the health record. - In preparation for the new MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, log in to milConnect and create your DS Logon. Beneficiaries with an existing DS Logon should upgrade their account to Premium Access. A link to the My Access Center is available via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal landing page to direct patients on obtaining their DS Logon credentials. - For questions regarding the DS Logon, visit www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect or contact the Defense Manpower Data Center at (800) 538-9552. *Prior to your facility transitioning to MHS GENESIS, receiving a reply of No Records Available indicates a successful patient portal login.*
