So I'm a Chicago transplant and probably needed more help than an average person buying/selling a home.. but there are several things that made working with Eugene a uniquely helpful experience for my family: 1. Knowledge of the SD market and the ability to map our needs to a neighborhood. SD is big and diverse, and especially if you haven't lived here your whole life here, it's pretty difficult to pick a spot that best matches your budget, style and family needs. In our case..., Eugene guided us a bit away from the ocean and into a community with amazing infrastructure, great schools and easy accessibility to a variety of family activities. 3 months in now, and we still couldn't be more thankful for that advice. 2. Because he gets feedback from a ton of sellers and buyers, Eugene has hands-on understanding of schools across town. There have been several situations where he steered us clear of highly-ranked schools that didn't match our kids' needs. 3. We also got great advice around pricing and negotiation for the home that we wanted. There are intricacies you simply don't know coming from a different market - and Eugene has been amazing in both a) telling us when to get out of our own way to keep the deal moving, b) knowing where to dig in to save money and derisk the transaction. We definitely got a better deal on the place because of how this was handled. 4. Lastly, and we didn't even know this going in -- but Eugene actually has a construction crew he uses for his own house flips, so he helped us more or less gut/rebuild the house we bought, on a budget, with amazing quality! We ended up getting our house the day before the big COVID shutdown, flying back to Chicago, and coming back to a turnkey remodel that we still can't believe we live in. A big part of this was the great design guidance we got - saving us from quite a few costly mistakes. Anyhow -- this is probably more than anyone here needs.
