Attention Lamont Weedpatch! At this time due to unforeseen circumstances we have postponed the COVID-19 vaccination site scheduled for this Sunday in Lamont at Seventh-Day Adventist church. We are working with the Kern County Latino COVID-19 Task Force to bring more vaccinations sites to Lamont in the near future. Thank you for your understanding.

It's almost graduation time, and as usual the Lamont Chamber will be awarding $500 scholarships to some of our graduating Lamont and Weedpatch seniors! This year's scholarship application is online, and is open to any student in Lamont or Weedpatch who will be attending college or technical/trade school in the 2021-22 school year. This month's General Meeting of the Lamont Chamber will be Tuesday, April 13th at noon by Zoom. We'll have a presentation from Youth for Change, be discussing this year's scholarships and earth day cleanup, and talking more about upcoming events and activities. A Very special congratulations to our Lamont School District and Board of Trustees for working so hard to improve our local schools. The district announced toda...y the construction of new kindergarten facilities for students at Lamont Elementary school. The project includes 8 new classrooms in-classrooms student restrooms and teacher workroom/storage areas. The project will also include a new playground and circulation improvements.
