Kricket’s Designs- this house was fun to work in. The architect did a wonderful job. If your going to have to stay at home why not bring the outside in. We kept the hues soft except for the custom velvet blue couch, always a favorite for me. Wishing I was quarantined with my client in this beautiful space. Yes, I am so lucky to have enjoyed my client this much. Good people, good hearts, lucky to be healthy! Happy Earth Day! The iMax film BACK FROM THE BRINK, narrated by Claire Danes, is in theaters now. Its about 3 species that came back from the brink of extinction through conservation efforts. Well all need to start talking about metal health like we do nutrition or exercise. We all struggle on some levels and of corse some more, but there should be no shame! I have a number of people in my life that are dealing with this shame and critical thoughts that say they are a failure if they can’t handle what is going on and acting like what truly is going on isn’t. I have done it myself. I struggled with anxiety and panic attacks that started back in my 20’s when my ...step dad died of cancer and my world started to fall apart even more. When I tried to tell a couple of my piers that I trusted most what was happening they looked at me like I had an extra appendage. That’s how clueless we all were. I was afraid to tell my parent because I thought they would blame it on something irrelevant like not being a good Christian. This all made it so much worse. It isolated me and made me waste so much of my energy just trying to manage myself to try to act normal. My parents thought pharmaceuticals where for stupid people and would only make me stay addicted to the system. I knew this bad from their commentary on those people that used this kind of help, not because I was honest about my own state. It took me until my mid 40’s to accept the condition and this is with therapy starting in my 20’s that I enrolled myself in. It was a process of self acceptance and a break down of all that I was feed Intellectually that wasn’t true or accurate. I’m sharing this because what happens is you become your own worst enemy. I fought so hard tonot to admit I had depression and anxiety. It was my biggest secrets even to myself. I didn’t want the labels I wanted to be okay. The lack of education that could be provided In our school systems at a young age, say in health class would help so many people be able to work through these REAL kind of problems in our society and the overall world would function so much better. So be kind to yourself and don’t be afraid to be transparent with what your struggle with. Seek those out that know there’s a Uniqueness to all of us and how we cope and operate.
