September was a crazy month! In the middle of all this chaos I was reminded of just how much I love this job. I was introduced to this young family 2 weeks into their 30 day escrow. They had been pre-approved by a different lender and After making numerous offers they finally had one accepted. Two weeks after signing the contract, after handing over the deposit they had scrimthed and saved for they were told they no longer qualified because of guideline changes due to COVID.... When their Real Estate agent called to ask if I could help I honestly told him it was going to be hard. I had to try because these people shouldn’t be penalized because of a pandemic that was out of their control. From the moment I spoke with Maria I could tell they were terrified of losing this home and all hopes of owning their own home. With every update (appraisal came in at value, we have underwriting approval, even signing docs) her only question was can this still fall apart? Telling Maria that their loan had funded, that this home was theirs, that there was no way it could fall apart made all the long hours and craziness this month worth it. See more
