2020 CHIROPRACTIC LITERATURE UPDATE : . . . Of the studies included in the following systematic review and meta-analysis, chiropractic users had a 64% lower odds of receiving an opioid prescription than those not using chiropractic! This does not come as a surprise to me, as I get to see walking testimonials every day of people finding health from the inside-out. We get to work creating synergetic communication from body to brain and brain back to the body! A sound nervous system is one that can serve you in times of pain but also in times of your greatest expressions in life. Who do you know that needs to hear this message?

Embracing your weight is a form of self-love, go with me here. When we accept who we are, and acknowledge all of our physical, mental, and emotional cues - we are in the driver's seat for change. Weight gain, inability to lose weight, weight loss both intended and unintended ... all of these patterns can be access points for learning. . Checking the scale, albeit sometimes necessary in a doctor's office, oftentimes paints a thin scaffolding of a deeper rooted story of healt...h. One worth paying attention to. You don't have to have a plan at first, simply start by checking in with yourself from head to toe - eyes closed, envisioning each organ system. . Common reasons you may find the weight patterns above challenging for you could be from leaky gut dysfunction, gut infections, lack of diverse gut flora, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, or many other debilitating conditions to which have links with the physical manifestation of carrying a healthy weight. . What's one active step you can take? Check your gut health - yes, all the *bugs* that take home within you paired with ones that may be living *rent free* and need to take a hike! The best way to navigate this conversation is in my office, where we can also see that your nervous system is functioning as it should be once you start to adopt gut protocols. . Our modern lives look quite different from our ancestors ... wouldn't you agree? . The foods we eat don't have to! And when it comes to having healthy physiology - this means paying close attention to fats. Yes, repeat after me...fat is not bad. It's the type! . You may have downstream effects of fatty acid deficiencies if you suffer from musculoskeletal issues, endocrine issues, cardiovascular challenges, immune issues, allergies, asthma, or depression and other mood disor...ders. . Essential fatty acids are those that cannot be produced within the body itself, we get them from the foods we consume. Ergo, Omega-6's in the form of linolenic acid or Omega-3's in the form of alpha linolenic acid. . But you might have heard more often of the latter benefits of Omega-3's in their forms of DHA (best for brains!) and EPA (best for anti-inflammation!). These fatty acids compliment the required structures of all cell membranes in your body, provide long-lasting energy for cells, support healthy liver function, aids in fat soluble vitamin absorption, deliver protective lining for internal organs, and manage proper inflammatory reactions in your body! . If that isn't impressive enough, check out the fact that in this modern day we commonly consume omegas in the most backwards of ways! Some estimates point to consuming 25 times the amount of O-6's to O-3's! That's no balance act, and to better right our intake here are my favorite go-to choices for getting Omega-3's in! . Try these: Cold water fish in the form of wild-caught salmon, black cod, or tuna. Grass-fed beef, pastured egg yolks, avocados, walnuts, flax seed, or using cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for cooking! See more

Did you get outdoors this 4th of July? . If you did, are you also one of the 50 million Americans that suffer from allergies? . Allergies account for the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S. with an annual cost of over 18 billion dollars (according to research updated 2018)... . An allergy is an exaggerated immune response or reaction to a substance that is generally not harmful ... such as bee venom, pet dander, mold, or pollen among many other food based substances. . When you react with such over-sensitivity, your body releases a flood of chemicals called histamines targeted to then fight off the allergen. Then comes the symptoms ... a response all "allergy-sufferers" despise! . Meanwhile, antibodies are made to tag these foreign substances as foreign - even though they aren't foreign at all. . Have we considered the persistently sterile environment we may have created ... one that involves repetitive use of toxic cleaning products, hand sanitizers, and antibiotics from a young age ... a culprit of making our body unfamiliar to the natural world around us? .
