Healthy food choices can support your child's mental and oral health during the winter months. Clementine's are a winter citrus, packed with Vitamin C that keeps their immune system strong! Kids love that they're usually seedless, easy to peel and fun to eat, making them perfect for school lunchboxes or snacks. To learn more winter foods for kids: http://ow.ly/zg9Q30ryg4V

Did you know there's such thing as ADA-Approved chewing gum? When your child chews gum, the increase of saliva helps wash away food and debris, while also giving your teeth more calcium and phosphate, which ultimately help strengthen tooth enamel. Next time you're in the grocery store, look for gum with the ADA seal on it. For more tips and tricks, visit our website: https://barreradds.com/

Be a role model! Kids like to imitate those around them, so make sure to demonstrate good oral health habits for them. Brush and floss with your kids, rather than sending them into the bathroom on their own. Instead of treating it as a chore, make it part of the daily routine!

Is your child have a digit sucking habit? Usually, children will give up digit sucking by age four. However, if you are still struggling to help your child break the habit, we have some suggestions: - Wait until the time is right (low stress) - Motivate your child (show examples and explain what could happen to their teeth if they continue) - Use a reward system (small incentives will encourage them to stick with it)

Set a timer! A two-minute timer can help your little one know when it's time to stop brushing and keep them accountable. Bonus: You can also challenge your child to see if they can brush for the whole two minutes without stopping.

Does your young child want to brush his or her own teeth? While independence is important, it's key to still help them if they're under 7 or 8 years old. Younger kids still need help because their hand skills aren't fully developed.
