Golden Tone Voice Studio

Our virtual studio class last Sunday went swimmingly! We discussed music theory; diving into major scales and chords. Then we played music games and sang karaoke! We'll continue to learn, grow, and connect through music even during these difficult times.

Congratulations to all of my students for a wonderful recital! Our Winter Recital on February 23rd was fantastic. My students sang their hearts out and I am so proud of all of them!

This Saturday I'll be a guest soloist at Kiko Torres's concert. He was our studio pianist for almost two years. What a joy to perform with him again! Please join us in celebrating the season and this talented young musician!

Jim explains the fascinating process of tuning. He uses a pitch indicator to confirm middle C. Then tunes the rest of the piano by ear. What a great example of a practical application of ear training!

Studio class was spooktacular! Tons of music games, prizes, cookie decorating, and singing! Studio class is held once a month, open to all students, and included with their weekly lessons. I love offering diverse learning activities to further support my students' growth and education.

When I'm not teaching you can find me performing throughout the community. I enjoy being a guest soloist at local churches. This week I was asked to sing an especially powerful and moving song. This is "The Lord Is My Light" by Mary Frances Allitsen. A big thank you to my pianist Kiko Torres and the congregation of the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

This year's Festival of Music and Art was great! I performed "Les Roses d'Ispahan" by Gabriel Fauré.

Truly, everyone can sing! It is not an innate talent that you either have or don't. It is a skill you can nurture and develop. I encorage my students to make music ardently. If you love singing, do it and hold nothing back!
