Instead of doomscrolling and waiting for poll results this #ElectionDay, flip your feed and check out this bipartisan friendship between Democrat Chris Haugh and Republican Jordan Blashek and how they came together to find common ground. Jordan and Chris co-wrote the book 'Union: A Democrat, A Republican, and the Search for Common Ground," the result of a three-year journey traveling around the United States and learning from each other and communities along the way.

Can television be used to reduce political polarization? We certainly think so! And so does Dave Caplan, co-showrunner and executive producer for the hit show "The Connors." Caplan worked with Civic Health Project grantee Pathos Labs on a project last spring that culminated in a tv episode (aired on October 28) geared at bridging the divide between left and right and reducing partisan polarization. Civic Health Project is currently exploring ways in which popular entertainment might help to depolarize our nation, and was recently a proud sponsor of PopShift, an online event bringing together 50 television writers and 50 social scientists for discussions around entertainment’s role in bridging divides. Congratulations to Pathos Labs and well done "The Connors!

Utah Governor candidates Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox (R) and law professor Chris Peterson (D) have released joint ads calling for civility and asking viewers together to "show the country that there's a better way." Captain America is trying to heal America? It sounds like a plot point in a Marvel movie, but Chris Evans one of the minds behind A Starting Point, a bipartisan video platform that connects politicians directly with voters to answer hot topics questions in 2 minutes or less.

The Mitchells, lifelong Democrats, and the Gateses, lifelong Republicans, are trying to show that neighbors with different political opinions can still be friends. In each yard stands a sign that reads "We Heart suit Them with an arrow pointing to the other house." #weavingcommunity
