Here's one from a few years ago for the active Engineer Ashcraft - a Z train descending the east side of Sand Pass, Nevada. The hills that the train is rolling ...along mark the southern edge of the Smoke Creek Desert. While we camped here, we saw a couple dozen wild mustangs in the distance. If you're looking for solitude, this is the place to go. See more

Some more scans from the Logan boxes - here's the Mount Emily Shay pulling a photo freight on the City of Prineville Railway, back in February 1995.

Since we're going to Eugene today, here's a train picture from 1995. The evening Burlington Northern switch job is working the mills along highway 99 on the northwest side of town.

Here's one for Phil and Philip - back in 1995, the Union Pacific E units roll along the Deschutes River near South Junction.

CB&Q 163ABC and a 2-car Dinky at Fairview Ave., Downers Grove, IL on May 20, 1964. 163A was a F7A built in 1950 and 163BC were F3B and F3A built in 1948. The CB...&Q bought its early F-units in sets of four (ABBA) and found as a flat-lander railroad that that was more than enough power for its typical freight trains. So the Q broke its ABBA sets in half and added a new F7A to each as seen here. Amazing what you can squeeze out of a 56-year old Kodachrome.
