Need volunteers for phone banking and you can start today because El Dorado County voters already received their ballots. The phone bank is easy to access and to use. The coordinator is Lee Boylan: Contact her at: [email protected] and she can get you started phone calling today!

Campaign Yard Sign! Free to good home in my district, which includes Folsom or anywhere in El Dorado County. Let me know through messenger if you would like one. I have a bevy of HS seniors who will deliver one to your front yard and a neighbors front yard if they are interested. Please include your address. Thanks. Chris.

Volunteers Needed Looking for volunteers to help with phone calls and texting to Democratic voters in either Folsom or El Dorado County. We have two phone banking/texting opportunities to choose from. I'm involved in a joint phone banking effort with two Folsom friends. One is running for Folsom City Council, Jaya Badiga and the other is running for Folsom Cordova School Board, Hari Shetty. The county Democratic Party in El Dorado County has also set up a phone bank operation, as well. You can email my campaign at: [email protected] or you can messenger me if you are interested in helping out. Thanks. Chris.

More Good News to Report on Endorsements. I am honored to have the formal endorsement of SEIU 1021 and the Sacramento Central Labor Council. In addition, last night the Democratic Women of El Dorado County voted to endorse my candidacy.

Yesterday, I received wonderful news - I secured the formal endorsement of the El Dorado County Democratic Party. This endorsement comes on top of the endorsement by the Democratic Party of Sacramento County in June, and more recently endorsements by several Democratic Clubs including Wellstone Progressive Democrats, the Folsom Area Democratic Club, and the American River Democratic Club.

Pandemic aside, California is facing a nursing shortage. I mention often that one of the problems we face as a region and as a state is not spending more resources on vocational education, especially on nursing and health care programs. The Los Rios College District has only two Associate Degree for Nursing programs, one at Sacramento City college and the other at American River college. Each year, they can only accept 140 nursing applicants. Last year, they received over 1,000 applications for those 140 slots. Los Rios can help meet this nursing demand by increasing the number of nursing students it trains every year. But we can only do that if we devote more funding to career education programs like nursing, which is what I plan to do.

Here's an article on closing some athletic programs at Palomar College in Southern California. I support a similar action in the Los Rios College District. Los Rios spends more than $6 million per year on its various athletic programs paying for 252 coaches, assistant coaches, trainers and other staff needed to maintain athletic programs.* It spends tens of millions more to build and maintain athletic facilities. Community colleges are the lowest funded public education segment in California. Community colleges should not divert scarce resources to expensive athletic programs. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com//palomar-community-co

Here's one reason why I'm pushing for a tribal college on Folsom Lake's campus. https://laist.com//native_american_enrollment_in_community

Cost! One big reason why a community college vocational program is preferred over a private vocational program. It's also a big reason I'm pushing for more vocational education programs at Los Rios Colleges in my run for Trustee. http://www.statewidepathways.org/students-4.html

Good news from Senate Democrats in California. They are taking a different approach to the budget, sparing community colleges and the other education segments from the drastic cuts proposed by Governor Newsom. https://www.latimes.com//california-lawmakers-gavin-newsom
