Scapular winging, sometimes called a winged scapula, is a condition that affects the shoulder blades. Scapula is the anatomical term for the shoulder blade. The shoulder blades usually rest flat against the back of the chest wall. Scapular winging occurs when a shoulder blade sticks out.... Scapular winging can be caused by damage of one of the nerves that helps control your shoulder blade or can be from weakness of the serratus anterior muscle which helps to stabilize the shoulder blade with arm movement. In today’s video, we demonstrate 3 Simple Exercises for Scapular Winging: 1 . - Lie on your back holding a small free weight or soup can with your arm extended out in front of your body and towards the ceiling. While keeping your elbow straight, protract your shoulders forward towards the ceiling and then lower back down in a control motion. Do not allow your shoulder to raise towards your ears. Keep your elbow straight the entire time. Repeat 3 sets of 10 repetitions. 2 . - Start in a push up position on your hands and toes with elbows fully extended as shown. Maintain this position as you protract your shoulder blades forward to raise your body upward a few inches. Then, return to original position. Repeat 3 sets of 10 repetitions. 3 . - Position yourself with your forearms and hands parallel to each other and pressed against the wall. Wrap the elastic band around your hands, as shown in the picture press out against the band with your hands. Keeping your arms pressed against the wall, slide your hands above your head. Slowly lower your arms back down to the starting position. Repeat 3 sets of 10 repetitions. #exercise #fitness #fitnessgoals #exerciseathome #fitspiration #fitnessjourney #exercisemotivation #shoulders #shoulderblade #physicaltherapy #rehab #recover #recovery

A wrist sprain occurs when the strong ligaments that support the wrist stretch beyond their limits or tear. This occurs when the wrist is bent or twisted forcefully, such as caused by a fall onto an outstretched hand. ... Wrist sprains are common injuries and can range from mild to severe, depending on how much damage there is to the ligaments. Sprains are graded, depending on the degree of injury to the ligaments: Grade 1 sprain (mild). The ligaments are stretched, but not torn. Grade 2 sprain (moderate). The ligaments are partially torn. This type of injury may involve some loss of function. Grade 3 sprain (severe). The ligament is completely torn or the ligament is pulled off of its attachment to bone. These are significant injuries that require medical or surgical care. If the ligament tears away from the bone, it may take a small chip of bone with it. This is called an avulsion fracture. Wrist sprains are caused most often by a fall onto an outstretched hand. This might happen during everyday activities, but frequently occurs during sports and outdoor recreation. The biceps muscle is located at the front of your upper arm. The muscle has two tendons that attach it to the bones of the scapula bone of the shoulder and one tendon that attaches to the radius bone at the elbow. The tendons are tough strips of tissue that connect muscles to bones and allow us to move our limbs. Injuries to the biceps tendons include proximal biceps tendonitis at shoulder, proximal biceps tendon tear at shoulder..., and distal biceps tendonitis and tear at the elbow. Even though tendons are tough, if you overuse them they can become sore and painful. This is caused by micro tears in the tendon and it is called tendonitis (sometimes spelled tendinitis). Tendonitis can occur because of repetitive motion. Tendonitis can also occur because of a sudden, serious load to the tendon. You can get biceps tendonitis in the shoulder or at the elbow. It is unusual to have tendonitis in both places at the same time. In todays video, we demonstrate 3 Simple Exercises for Biceps Injuries: 1 . Place your hand against a wall or pole with your elbow straight. Rotate your body away from your hand/the wall until you feel a stretch across the front of your chest and down your arm into your bicep. Repeat 3 sets of 30 second holds. 2 . Either standing or sitting, bend your elbow to 90 degrees. Take your other hand and place it on your lower arm. As you try to continue curling your arm up, press down with your opposite hand to resist the motion. Repeat 3-5 sets of 10 repetitions. 3 . Bend your elbow to 90 degrees. Hold a dumbbell in your hand. Hold this position for 30 seconds. Repeat 3-5 times. See more

() A groin strain, also referred to as a pulled groin muscle, is an injury to the muscles on the inside of the thigh, known as the adductor muscles. - Every night you go to sleep with the thought of waking up fresh, well-rested and ready for a new day. However, it all crumbles down upon waking up and realizing that your whole body hurts. Your neck is stiff, your lower back is killing you, and you feel more tired in the morning than the night before. We’ve all been there, and usually, people get used to waking up in pain. But, things don’t have to remain like that. So how do you adjust yo...ur sleep position? PILLOWS! : You should always use a pillow under your head, not too firm and not too flat. The key is that you want your neck to be aligned with the rest of your spine. : If you have a hard, firm pillow that bends your head forward, you’ll probably want a softer pillow. : If your pillow is too flat and causes your head to arch backwards, you’ll want to place a folded towel on the underside of your pillow case to add more cushion until you reach a neutral spine. Having the towel on the underside will allow you to still have a soft cushioned feeling on the top of the pillow where you rest your head. : You should also use a pillow under your arms to support their weight and prevent tension on the pectorals and upper traps. These muscles attach to your neck so you can be sure that they’ll cause some dysfunction if they’re causing unnecessary tension. #sleep #cantsleep #pillow #pillows #painfree #stiffneck #backpain #selfhelp @ San Elijo Hills, San Marcos, California See more
