Eleven different players scored at least four points for the Hesperia girls basketball team in an 81-11 victory over Sultana on Wednesday night. Playing against her former team, Tyreshia Sessions led the scorpions with 13 points, five rebounds, six assists and seven steals.

The Silverado wrestling team scored 36 points via pinfall en route to its first victory of the season in Desert Sky League action.

The Hesperia boys basketball team extended its win streak to nine games over Oak Hills with a 67-52 victory on the road Wednesday night. Tony Singleton led Hesperia’s offense with 27 points. John McCullough had a huge game crashing the boards with 14 rebounds and 12 points.

Oak Hills dynamic sophomore Kolo Suliafu was one of 24 players across the nation invited to training camp for the U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team.

Stephen Thomas Welch hit a game-winning 3 with 1.6 left to play, lifting the Hesperia boys basketball team in the fifth-place game of the Classic at Damien Tournament. Welch’s buzzer-beater gave the Scorpions a 61-60 victory Monday night, and capped Hesperia’s rally from a late 12-point deficit to beat a Los Osos team coached by a familiar face to High Desert hoops.

The Silverado boys basketball team rallied from a double-digit lead to knock off Redlands East Valley for the San Bernardino Kiwanis Tournament title Monday night. The Hawks trailed by eight at the start of the fourth quarter and pulled off a 64-59 victory over the Wildcats, the tournament’s defending champions.

Laisha Hernandez scored her 16th goal of the season to lead the Sultana girls soccer team to victory Thursday afternoon in the Mojave River League opener.

Darren Atkinson hit a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Adelanto boys basketball team past Victor Valley on Thursday night. After the Jackrabbits were called for travel with the Saints down two points and a couple of ticks left on the clock, Atkinson took the inbound pass, took a side step and drained the shot.

Adelanto's star running back made good on his commitment to continue his football career at Washington State University on Wednesday the first day of the early signing period. Marshawn Buchanan met the NCAA and high school's graduation requirements ahead of schedule, allowing him to enroll in college for the spring semester. Friday is Buchanan's last on the Adelanto High campus.

The Granite Hills’ Dead Rabbits rugby team opened its season with three wins and a loss at a preseason tournament at JSerra Catholic High School on Dec. 14.

Caijon Wolfe and Darren Atkinson combined for nearly half the Adelanto boys basketball team’s points Monday night in a 70-66 victory over Serrano.

Serrano’s Parker Chaffee and Apple Valley’s Sam Jang earned the Mojave River League’s Most Valuable Player awards, while Silverado’s Devin Gandy and Adelanto’s Darius Gibson took home Desert Sky League Player of the Year awards.

The Robert Marchese era of Oak Hills wrestling got off to a good start Thursday night. Under their new head coach, the Bulldogs topped Serrano 44-25 on the road in the Mojave River League opener.
