Tomorrow promises that the rain will hold off for us, so let’s gather 10 minutes before 12 noon in the gravel parking lot for the Lake Earl Coastal Lagoon Trail, which is on the west sid...e of Lake Earl Drive and a little north of the intersection of Lake Earl Drive and Elk Valley Cross Road. So far we have 9 people, so there’s plenty of room for more on this adventure! Please re-confirm. Here is a checklist of things to wear/bring for girdling well-established English ivy off trees in a forest: Wear long, thick pants and long sleeves, thick cover up shirt. (protect from prickly berry vines) Layers! Hiking boots or something with maximum ankle support. (uneven ground, berry vines) Your favorite loppers and hand saws for removing limbs and cutting thick vines off trees (we have some) Your favorite hand held clippers (we have some) Safety glasses or goggles (or sun glasses) to protect eyes from pokey branches (we have some) Gloves (we have light gloves) A kerchief to wear over your nose and mouth, if you get dusted by churning up duff -- or just use your Covid mask Bring drinking water, snacks.
