By now most of you have received an alert over your cellphone from the State of California regarding how serious COVID is. This is just a tool that the State is using to reach you as a reminder about the COVID virus. New public health stay at home order in your area. COVID-19 is spreading rapidly. Stay home except for essential activity. Wear a mask. Keep your distance. Visit covid19.ca.gov As adults, we should know what steps need to be taken as a community to keep ourselv...es safe (ie: wear your face coverings, wash your hands, and social distancing). Please continue to be safe and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

LOST DOG...***Has been found*** ***HAPPINESS*** Owner being reunited with her dog!... *Updates...10/24/20... Family still looking for the dog. Doggie still missing. **See update in comments. Needs assistance in locating information. Hi everyone, while out backpacking this last weekend my dog Lottie ran away during our final approach to the car. I spent Sunday evening and all day Monday looking for her and calling her name. She is a female, chi/terrier mix and is tan in color. She was recently groomed so her coat is extremely short. We were in the stanislaus meadow area when she bolted. I need your help with any suggestions of who to contact to get my girl back. The temperatures are getting chilly at night and it breaks my heart wondering if she is still out there or if someone already picked her up. We both live in Sacramento. She is chipped and registered. Please help! I need suggestions on who to contact in the area. Stanislaus meadows is beyond bear valley on highway 4. Andrea Derich (916) 390-2801 or by email at [email protected]

Get to know Robert! -he was raised in Dorrington, CA -he’s flown an airplane! -he spent 8 years in the Navy as a Crash and Salvage Air Craft Firefighter ... -he has a green thumb! He is great at taking down trees, but ironically, he’s a genius when it comes to growing just about anything! -he worked for the Forest Service and BLM (Bureau of Land Management) doing everything from wildlife biology tech, forestry tech, timber sales, silviculture, and wild land firefighting! He met his wife in 2014 and they have 3 crazy kiddos that keep them on their toes! As if that isn’t enough, they’ve got 2 fur babies (Siberian Huskies) that add just the right amount of love and chaos to their busy lives! -one wild thing about Robert is his wife and mom have the >>> Exact. Same. Name. Because, 1 Stephanie Peffer in your life just isn’t enough! I’ve enjoyed sharing some facts about the guy that I’ve watched put blood, sweat and tears into this young business with you all! I’m so excited to watch where he goes from here and couldn’t be more proud. Please like and share our page, we appreciate all the support. And as always, leave a review and receive a free Peffers Tree Service shirt! One last thing, that super awesome hat that Robert is wearing is available to preorder for $25! It’s got a pretty sweet logo on it if you ask me! Thanks again!

The National Weather Service has declared a red flag warning for tomorrow, September 7th beginning at 10:00p to 8:00a Tuesday, September 8th. This red flag war...ning covers the entire County. With this type of weather also comes the threat of a PSPS event; PG&E has been releasing information for approximately 17 counties, including Calaveras, as being in scope for a PSPS event that roughly follows the red flag warning timeline. Attached is a map of the areas in scope Calaveras County, that includes a total impact to 11,661 PG&E Customers in the County. The areas in scope run east of Rich Gulch, Mountain Ranch and Murphys, including: Bummerville, Wilseyville, Glencoe, Independence, Rail Road Flat, Sheep Ranch, Forest Meadows, Red Apple, Hathaway Pines, Avery, Arnold, White Pines and Camp Connell (roughly). PG&E is executing a plan to provide 3 Community Resource Centers (CRCs) in the Communities of Arnold, Murphys and West Point. To compound the red flag and PSPS events, we remain under an Excessive Heat Warning until September 8, 2020 at 6:00p. If that were not enough for any single Labor Day, PG&E has advised that IF the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) declares a need for rotating power outages either this afternoon/evening or tomorrow afternoon/evening that portions of Calaveras will be in the first group of blackouts. Rotating outages typically only last 60-90 minutes. The Communities impacted by any rolling power blackouts are between Murphys and Douds Landing in the Upper Highway 4 corridor. These outages are not connected to the PSPS event, and are directly related to the CAISO not having enough available power to power the entire grid.
