Nothing is more nerve wracking than load-in & set up days. Let me tell ya. Assembling your largest made custom backdrop for your most important client .... (like in the world) within a 3hr timeframe and with only 3 ladies can make you heart beat out of your chest. -... Not only are you hit with so many day-of obstacles like getting through doors that barely fit or transferring through maze-like kitchens and basements, in the back of your mind you’re constantly feeling unconfident of whether or not the client will like the end result. - As tensions run high, the next part of assembly and set up begins. Man, does the energy shift. It’s like someone pressed the hyperdrive button. This is when the hair goes up, the shirts tucked in and the seriousness settles. - In those remaining hours, My bada$$ team is monitoring the clock, making sure to attend to the rooms needs and thinking ahead of what needs to be done next. - As you see the final product reach its end stages you start to feel so much relief. Once that final touch is made, you step back and look at how your baby turn into a success. He’s taught me all the fundamentals of building and what it’s like to truly work hard. - Not only that! He himself has put in the hours into this business. This throwback photo right here is a perfect example of his labor of love. - Side note - I say labor of love because I pay him in love currency - Okay, back to the photo. Danny just finished working 16hr days for six straight days away from home. Came home in the middle of the night and went straight to installing all the etracks for our trailer for a large event the next day. - Wait for it..... - Then he worked another 16hr day with #visionaryeventsanddesigns - I don’t know about you, but that type of dedication deserves a raise. How to make your own Fast Sling Puck game Here’s another fun little project for you and your kiddos to build & that also turns into hours of fun!!! See how we made this quick and easy Fast Sling Puck game. - Tools (@dewalttough)... * Drill * Nail gun * Table Saw or Miter saw * Skill saw * Jig saw or Chisel * Sander or sand paper * Tape Measure * Pencil * Safety Glasses - Materials * 1/4 x 24 x 24 Plywood * 1 x 2 x 8 Board * 1-1/2 dowel (for pucks) * Bungee Cord * Cut into two 16 pieces * Wood Glue I had all of these materials already laying around the garage. If you were to buy them at @loweshomeimprovement or @homedepot , you’ll probably spend roughly $35-40. - Step 1: Measure and Cut all materials * Using your skill saw, Cut ply 16W x 20L * Using your miter saw, Cut board. (3) @ 15 and (2) @ 20 * Using one of your 15 boards, measure 6-3/8 from each end. (Giving you a 2-1/4 gap in the middle) then measure 3/4 from the bottom to the midline * Using your jig saw, cut out the 2-1/4 x 3/4 gap you just measured. * Using your miter saw, cut multiple 3/4 pieces from your 2-1/2 dowel. - Step 2: Sand all your materials * I used an orbit sander to speed up this process. - Step 3: Drill Holes * Take both of your 20 boards and measure and mark 2-3/4 from each end * Drill the holes (make sure to make the hole closer to the bottom edge of the board) - Step 4: Nail the 15 & 20 boards together * Using your nail gun, Attach the 20 boards on the ends of each 15 boards * Mark the middle of each 20 board and attach your last 15 board (with the gap) - Step 5: Attach the ply board to the frame * Attach the ply board to the BOTTOM of your frame using wood glue * Make sure the opening of the gap is the side that attaches to the ply * Add something heavy on top while the glue dries - Step 6: Paint * Make sure to Dust off all pucks and game board before painting - Step 7: Attach Bungees * Loop one end of the bungee through the hole, tighten, knot it and burn the ends. * Do this again for all holes. - There you have it! Brentwood’s Annual Light Parade Last night we participated in our very FIRST PARADE FLOAT EVER!... And let me tell you, it was amazing! We had so much fun passing out candies and putting on a show for the little ones. - We decided to choose a fun candyland/unicorn theme and it did not disappoint! Seeing kiddos reactions reminded me of why I love doing this. - It was such a joy giving back to the community like this. I’d definitely say it was the highlight of Visionary’s year. - P.S.
