Santa has a few extra helpers this year! St. Joseph's employees have purchased gifts for 540 children in need in our community, as part of our annual employee-led SPIRIT Club Adopt-A-Child project. The gifts will be given to children connected to the Child Abuse Prevention Council and San Joaquin County's Human Services Agency. Each child will receive a minimum of two gifts, inspired by items listed on their wish lists. This year we’ve collected over 1450 gifts, including 25 bicycles! Since the project first launched in 1986, our generous employees have gone above and beyond to help make this time of year extra special for kids in need, and this challenging year was no exception.

It's been quite a week at St. Joseph's, as the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have arrived and have started being administered to our staff. Among the first ten to receive the vaccine yesterday were two of our ICU nurses, a patient registration staff member, an environmental services staff member, two physicians, a student nurse/surgical tech, a hospital supervisor and two members of our Administrative Team. We are thankful to these leaders and staff members for leading ...by example and volunteering to receive the vaccine first. A broader roll out of the vaccine to our employees and physicians will continue throughout the week, with those who are at greatest risk being first in line. Check out this story in The Record: https://dignityhlth.org/3gSvG7w Also, be sure to join us for our Community Webinar this Friday at noon to learn more: https://dignityhlth.org/3gV8qGb
