This stunning couple braved these unprecedented times to celebrate their love and become one in holy matrimony at the St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church followed by a full on celebration on the lawns of the Hilton Waterfront Resort and Spa, Huntington Beach. A night of Celebration Opposites Attract! Valerie and Mehul’s magical and romantic evening of celebration was inspired by this paradigm. My inspiration was the Agate - a hard material with stunning linear texture, softened by reimagining it in shades of soft pinks and blush. The entire event was created with this element that echoed in all of the fine details. The 550 guests were greeted with an elaborate setup that doubled as the seating display. Reflecting back on my inspirations over the years, Monet’s Water Lilies series has always been a favorite of mine. I’ve forever been mesmerized by the soft hues, cool color palette, and distinctive brush strokes that make his impressionistic images so dimensional and create beautiful movement in his paintings. The water lily itself is also a very prominent feature in Indian art & religion. By pulling inspiration from Monet’s Water Lilies, we created an unforgettable settin...g for our lovely couple. We hired an artist to paint their interpretation of the masterpiece on canvas, which was then professionally photographed and enlarged to create 5 vertical panels as the backdrop of the stage. These were further embellished with live cascading greenery to add another dimension to the stage design. We covered the stage in a textured teal fabric reminiscent of rippling water.
