Senate Bill 805 passed the Assembly Arts Committee by 5 Democratic votes on Monday 6/21/2021. Thank you Assembly Members who voted yes, thank you for believing in the power of representation in the Arts. Big shout out to our community members, small performing artists who are calling, writing letters, tagging their representatives. Thank you for supporting representation on stage & behind the scenes!

For the next 24 to 48 hours we need to flood Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Assembly Member Wendy Carrillo, and Governor Newsom with calls, social media, emails, and messages. We are at a crucial step to getting our bill FUNDED. Use this script and call TODAY! "Hello, my name is XXXX and I am calling to ask that [Rendon/Carrillo or Newsom] support funding for SB805. This would save performing arts organizations, specifically theatres, all over the state!" We highly encourage going in-depth about what theatre means to you and why you believe this needs to be supported.
