Why do doctors routinely recommend advanced imaging (such as CT or MRI) for conditions such as concussion, migraine or vertigo? It is pertinent to rule out any ...life-threatening causes, such as a brain bleed, tumor, or tissue destruction that could be causing your symptoms. Imaging results often come back unremarkable, which ultimately is good news. However, this can be disheartening for patients who are struggling to find answers and something tangible that can be remedied. No cause means no solutions. Remember, advanced imaging is black and white (pun intended). If you are suffering from a condition that causes functional dysconnection such as the conditions listed above, you are stuck in the grey area. Meaning your brain isn’t working optimally, even if there’s nothing structurally wrong with it. At Oculus Brain Centers, we live in the grey area too. We utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to further assess functionality, after ruling out pathology. Our patients finally feel validation when our doctors uncover brain areas that are working suboptimally and give them much deserved answers as to the root cause of their ailments.
