When you fly in a plane at night, you can see the beautiful lights of each city. It’s a grand site when you’re flying over mountain ranges and you see just darkness. And then off in the distance you finally come upon the city, All the lights bear witness to the power of light. Where people live, we create lots of light, so we can fully function in the darkness of night as if there were daylight. ... Darkness cannot overcome light. Spiritual darkness is being blind to reality from God’s perspective. But when your spiritual eyes are opened it’s like 3D glasses.... When my son Conor was eight years old I took him to see the movie How to Train Your Dragon. The movie follows the young hero Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, who is the son of viking chief, Stoick the Vast, making him the heir to the Hooligan tribe. The trouble is Hiccup is scrawny and kind of nerdy. ... Hiccup must prove himself worthy. He strikes up an unlikely friendship with a young dragon, that he names Toothless, who becomes his ally in battle. At the climax of the movie when the vikings fight the evil dragons, Hiccup and Toothless lead the next generation to defeat the evil dragons. Toothless winds up having great power that didn't seem possible for such a small dragon and they blow up the enormous mother of all dragons. We saw the movie in 3D and so we wore 3D glasses. When they blew up the dragon, the ashes were floating all over the place and appeared to fall gently to the ground right in front of you. I looked over at Conor and he tried to grab the ashes in the air. When you have spiritual eyes, you see things from God's perspective that most people don't have eyes to see or ears to hear. John 1:14, 16 (ESV) For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. John 1:16 (ESV)... Jesus is the WORD that became flesh. THE WORD comes from an ancient Greek concept. The Greeks philosophers are widely known, Plato and Aristotle. Their influence on the world remains today. The WORD here speaks to a Greek audience and it speaks about the very meaning of life and all things. We find our meaning in THE WORD. We find our hope in THE WORD. THE WORD transcends earth. The WORD is other worldly. The scriptures tell us that THE WORD became human flesh and dwelt among us and the WORD was full of GRACE AND from THE WORD’s fullness we have all received grace built upon grace, over and over again. The behavior of Grace is like this: Grace cleans up a mess that someone else made. Grace takes credit for the wrong that someone else did. Grace led God to create a launch date for a revolution. This revolution is for the soul of humanity. The launch date began the day Jesus was born. Everything changed at the birth of Jesus. Jesus Christ was the launch date for the Redemption of the Soul. Grace is the answer to the problem that plagues our souls apart from God our problem of missing the mark of God's goodness.
