To peel, or not to peel? That IS a question for holistic. The short answer is, I dig 'em Absolutely. IF and when they are prioritized from values of promoting skin health + integrity and NOT over-used as a means of keeping your skin in check. Like many other modalities, peels can be extremely beneficial. I *also* believe they do tend to be overly relied on, and when home care isn't on point can unfortunately have the negative and counterproductive effect of ac...tually damaging your barrier, inviting dehydration, thinning the skin, creating inflammation which can promote hyper-pigmentation, and in some cases actually cause hyper-pigmentation. So, do they have a place in a holistic regimen? Everyone has different perspectives on this, and they're all valid. For me, YES- they can absolutely be included as part of a protocol that levels up your glow game When done responsibly with a solid home routine, they can be amazing allies! My position is to always pick [quality], appropriate for your skin type & condition in alignment with your goals, and aim for nontoxic formulas that produce results without causing unnecessary harm. Just another rewarding day at the studio filled with beautiful clients and gorgeous stones A major part of my approach to a holistic & balanced facial includes deliberate massage work, ESPECIALLY in areas of the face+body that hold the most tension. Love to incorporate gadgets and tools that assist this process, but really there has to be a dialogue between professional+client that is centered on education, health and exploration.... You. Guys. I've been always been really negligent about documenting my work. It's this excited tendency to just jump right in and do my biz.. but I'm realizing I've done a huge disservice to not only myself but my current and future clients! This beautiful before beautiful after has me SO pumped it had to be shared! Taking a moment to appreciate... Notice how much softer the posture is elongated neck with diminished creasing (talk about decompressing!) diminished bulging and leveling of the shoulders defined and prominent jawline ...and my FAVE result the golden glow! Same exact lighting in both pics, no editing of any kind. This is after just one 60 minute facial, mainly using manual massage, Japanese lifting/drainage technique & gua sha with @dralkaitis superfood skin care
