~HEART HEALING~ Most of us hold so much unprocessed pain in our hearts and it’s not possible for it to be totally open with trauma and emotions of grief and sadness held in it. If you can be brutally honest with yourself it’s likely you can’t or won’t open your heart fully. You might even feel like it’s numb.... You might know what loss or heartbreak caused you to shut down a corner of your heart. Or it could come from an unintentional moment in your childhood you don’t remember - when your sibling was born, when your parents let you cry in your crib, when your mom freaked out about being pregnant. Or maybe you’re super sensitive and couldn’t make it through the day surrounded by injustice and tragedy with your full heartedness. We all have a story and our heart is usually where it lives. It’s completely possible to release the emotions you’re holding in your heart, to release the traumas stored there and for your heart to soften and heal. The most traditional way to learn Reiki 2 is together with Reiki 1. Mikao Usui and Chujiro Hayashi taught everything as one seminar, typically over 5 days. The idea of separating them came later. Some Western lineages teach that you need to wait a certain amount of time between each level - another Western concept (that we need time to get ‘good’ at it) that’s been stuck on a practice that doesn’t conform to our ideas about learning and proficiency. But it’s hard for me (and ...most of you!) to find a weekend to teach the classes together so I don’t often do it. Next Sunday I’m teaching Reiki 2.
