TIP OF THE MONTH- (January)It’s the dead of winter and the possibility of rain is always there, even here in San Diego, so for those that have sectional doors, one of the main problems is the door going down to within a foot or so of the floor then reversing. This happens when the framework of your opening or jambs (as they are called) swell due to water absorption and its pushing against the sections as the door travels downbinding and sending the door back up. (Solutio...n)Look on the back side of the jambs on both sides for burn marks and spray the bare wood with WD-40, it will soak into the wood and keep the back sides of the jambs slick enabling your door to make it all the way down through the rainy months and since WD-40 is a water displacement and lubricating agent, it is usually the best type of spray in this caseand who doesn’t own a can of WD-40 ? The other tip is to keep your jambs painted and waterproof, especially near the floor but do not paint the backside of the jamb that the door travels down, the backside should be bare wood and lubed if needed. This will ensure that your sectional garage door will fully close during the wet months here in sunny San Diego!! See more

Frequently Asked Questions These are the most common questions we get on a daily basis. Q-Whats the lead time on new doors?... Most standard doors are in stock, and can be installed within two or three days and on occasion the next day, but anything odd as far as color or panel design or size goes, could be a few weeks.

TIP OF THE MONTH-(September)The kids are back in school now and it’s time to go to work on your fix-it-list. If you have a one piece door then you want to make sure you have it painted real good to keep the winter rain and water from soaking into it, if possible paint it inside and out. If you have a steel sectional door then you don’t have much to worry about except keeping the jambs painted and sealed so that you don’t end up with January’s problem. Now is the time to look it all over before the rain comes, it’s critical that if you have a wood door it needs to be water proof!!!

Frequently Asked Questions These are the most common questions we get on a daily basis. Q-I have an old opener, can it still be repaired?... A-Most Liftmaster, Sears Craftsman (Chamberlain) and Genie’s made after 1993 still have parts available, however Crusader and Moore-O-Matic parts have been discontinued. Most machines prior to 1993 were not up to the UL325 safety standards and are not to be repaired. If you are not sure of the age call us with the model number of your machine. Most machines have a mfg sticker with the date on it.

Frequently Asked Questions These are the most common questions we get on a daily basis. Q-How do I get an extra remote control for my opener?... A-First you have to know what machine you have, If it’s a Liftmaster then you need to know what color the program button is, it’s usually located within inches of where the antenna comes down. If its a Genie, then you have to pull down the lens cover and see if there are dipswitch type codes or a black button by the left light bulb, with that info we can get you the remote you need. Or if you still have an existing remote, chances are we’ll have the match in stock.

Frequently Asked Questions These are the most common questions we get on a daily basis. Q-My door only opens a few inches then stops.... A-This is usually an indicator that the doorfor some reason, has become very heavy. First thing to look for would be a broken spring, Please watch the Quick fix video series on identifying a broken spring. On a sectional door the springs would be located above the door, on a 1pc door they would be on each side of the door. Start there first.

Frequently Asked Questions These are the most common questions we get on a daily basis. Q-My door will openbut wont close.... A-First off, see if you are able to bring the door down by keeping the wall button depressed, if so then your safety sensors are mis-aligned, blocked or not working, Please watch the quick fix video series on Eye-Beam alignment. If not then it could be a multitude of different problems from RPM sensor to a clutch adjustment, that would also affect the up cycle as well though, but call us first to try a few other tests.

August Maintenance Tip-For all of you that are still clinging to your original one piece door, make sure you keep up the maintenance on your hinges and springs, the hinges have 5 pivot points on each hinge that could use some silicone spray every once in a while. If they are squeaking it means metal on metal and that’s never good, especially with a 300 lb door that sits over your head. The springs are not like the springs on a sectional where they have a certain life cycle rating, the mfg of your one piece door springs recommend you change them every 5-7 yrsmost folks don’t, but if they are over ten yrs old then I would highly recommend changing them before you end up with your car stuck in the garage. Most one piece door springs have the mfg date stamped in the top, so do yourself a favor and check that.

June 01, 2019 Where has the time gone? It’s the 30 th Year Anniversary for All-Pro Quality Garage Doors. It was back in June 1989 that Mike and Paul decided to officially start their garage door company. Mike with his parachute pants and USA cap and Paul with his big boofondu . They decide it was time to do things the right way in the garage door industry. Starting from scratch they focused on quality service, products... and customer service receiving multiple awards throughout the years. They created great relationship and friendships with many vendors and loyal customers along the way. We would like to thank all of them that have taken this journey with us and we look forward to several more years of continued support and success servicing the garage door community. In honor of our 30 th Anniversary we will be offering a special discount of $30.00 off any new garage door opener ( and we will throw in a free battery backup ) when installed during the month of June. This special promotion will expire on June 30, 2019. Come join in the celebration and save money. Thanks again for all your support over the years. Mike and Paul
