Introducing our new Executive Board! Zachariah Taymuree is a third-year student majoring in Economics/Mathematics with minors in Business Finance and Business Law. Within USG, he is our Chief Financial Officer. #whyUSG When I first entered USC, I felt a little out of place. Growing up in a small town of Moraga, California, the big city of Los Angeles and the glamour of USC’s beautiful campus was quite different from what I had been accustomed to throughout my life up until my... college years. As a result, my early days on campus were full of much uncertainty: uncertainty over clubs to join, classes to take, friends to make, and places to be. However, one thing that I was not unsure about was my intention to leave this campus a better place than when I had matriculated. Much unlike many of my colleagues, USG was not my first choice when it came to finding the relevant entities by which to create a maximal impact on the student body. In the spring of my sophomore year, I had the privilege of joining a team of some of the smartest and most capable students on campus as they, and eventually, we strove to create the first-ever Middle-Eastern and North African Center on campus. Although it was difficult, we finally managed to establish a physical entity within our campus in which we MENA Trojans were able to elevate and celebrate the unique voices of our community. Joining USG was in many ways a natural progression of my work with USC MENA. I don’t want my work within USG to be seen simply as crunching numbers on a spreadsheet, but fundamentally working to celebrate and elevate the diverse voices of all Trojans as we collectively strive to better our campus community through impactful work and nuanced conversations. It is my mission to make every Trojan, irrespective of their certainty over majors, minors, clubs, or classes to never be uncertain of their belonging.

Introducing our new Executive Board! Jina Hur is a fourth-year student majoring in Philosophy and Psychology. Within USG, she is our Chief Programming Officer. #WhyUSG When I first joined as an intern in ISA, I had very little knowledge of the broad scope of work that USG engages in, and the impact that the organization has on the study body. Since then, I can confidently say that my time in USG has been the most challenging, but also a rewarding part of my college experience. I’ve been able to interact with some of the most devoted, talented, and diligent people, and through these interactions, I’ve learned and grown so much. While it hasn’t always been smooth-sailing, I’ll definitely look back at these experiences with no regrets.

Introducing our new Executive Board! Lucy Warren is a third-year student majoring in Economics and Political Science. Within USG, she serves as Chief Diversity Officer. #WhyUSG? During my freshman year at USC, I was hit with unpredictable health Challenges that changed my idea of a true college experience. I quickly realized I was not going to be able to have the same social life, be involved in the same extracurricular activities, or participate in the same academic and wo...rk experiences as my peers. As a disabled college student, you must learn to make the most of your own limitations. And so, as a freshman, that is what I set out to do. Along the way, I have gained an awesome, diverse community of friends and mentors that have helped me grow into a proud, Black, queer, disabled woman. I am more motivated than ever to ensure that future freshmen are relieved from some of the similar challenges that I have faced as a student, and feel seen, heard, and supported. That is why I am thrilled to join USG. USC is made up of incredible people that may have different backgrounds, skills, perspectives, and challenges, but we share the ability to persevere and #fighton. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of an organization that represents and serves the Trojans I call family. See more

Introducing our new Executive Board! Shreya Chaudhary is a third-year student majoring in Business Administration. Within USG, she is our Chief Communications Officer. #whyUSG I joined USG because I wanted to be part of a team of passionate and motivated leaders that are determined to make lasting change happen at USC. Before being part of the organization, I knew little of the impact USG directly had on the student body, and often times found myself asking questions to which... answers were not readily accessible. Now, I am extremely excited to join a group that is not afraid to be transparent, make substantial and meaningful change, and have the difficult conversations needed to make that happen. Lastly, USG has shown me just how much of an impact even just one person can make, and I hope that through our work, we can embolden the members of our student body to feel like they can do the same. Introducing our new Executive Board! First up, Rachel Moten! Rachel Moten is a fourth-year student majoring in Public Policy with a minor in Public Relations. Within USG, she serves as Chief of Staff. #whyUSG I was drawn to USG because of its independence. Every single thing that the organization produces is done by students every dollar budgeted, every Instagram graphic, and every resolution delivered to administration. In my time with USG I’ve watched student officers put ...in thousands of hours of advocacy work; contending with setbacks and celebrating well-earned victories. It’s an environment that constantly challenges me and encourages me to be a better listener and a better organizer. USG and the student officers that make it run are truly inspiring and it’s an honor to come aboard and continue supporting their work.
