Congratulations on graduating your therapy program Mr. Jones! University was absolutely blessed to rehabilitate the artistic and brilliant Mr. Jones for the past few weeks! After surgery with the amazing Dr. Zachary Lum at Ucdmc, we had the incredible task of assisting him in rehabilitation. Getting to know him and his passions was such an honor, and we all look forward to seeing his art in book form, as he has stated he plans to publish it soon. Mr. Jones was kind enough ...to give a brief summary of his time here at University and for that we are grateful! What was your favorite part of your stay here at University Post Acute? The quality of care. The therapists and CNAs. I think they are quite professional and they school you in training your habits. They are looking at opportunities to develop the strengths that you need to know and they actually listen and ask questions. What can you tell us about your experience with therapy? The therapists really see what extent you can push yourself to. I believe you need therapists to talk you through what's going on and how your body needs to regain its mobility. You need some guidance. What are you most excited to get back to now that you have completed therapy? Artwork. I will be doing some writing and working on my photography as well. I draw about 20 sketches a day. Any recommendations you would have for patients out there looking to get rehabilitation? You guys are definitely set up well. The tight relationship you have with the hospitals and surgeons is ideal. You always have access to your surgical team and the people you need. I appreciate that here, you are evaluated independent of what's just written on a piece of paper. I do have to say Amy was so professional. She has skill and really knows what she is doing with wound care. Mr. Jones is excited to get back to his awesome life, but has said that he will visit in the future. Thank you Mr. Jones for allowing us the opportunity to care for you in your rehabilitation journey! **Consent was received to post the above information prior to posting**

Congratulations on graduating your therapy program Mrs. Sunitsch! University is undoubtedly grateful for the smile and warmth brought by the unparalled Mrs. Sunitsch! We have had the absolute pleasure of caring for her over the past few weeks and getting to know her one on one. Hers is a story of determination, perseverance and an incredible attitude. Upon her appointment with her surgeon Dr. Steven Thorpe of Ucdmc, Mrs. Sunitsch shared a touching personal moment where he ...told her You are my champion. To which she replied, And you are my magician! That is simply the kind of wonderful woman she is. She was kind enough to share some of her thoughts about her stay here, as she moves on to the next part of her Journey GOING HOME! What was your favorite part of your stay here at University Post Acute? All of the great care I received! The CNAs, the Physical Therapists, the Nurses. Everyone is just so nice and helpful. What would you like to say about your rehabilitation journey? It is the best I have ever received. You are there, one on one with your physical therapists and you get to know them and build a relationship. I worked with Jacquelyn and Debra the most, and they were just so wonderful and kind. They know when to push you and when not to. I also worked with Kitty and Kaylene and I just love all of the therapists I worked with to pieces. Any breakthrough moments that stick out to you from your therapy sessions? My breakthrough was after my second surgery. I had regressed after being in the hospital for a few weeks, and after only my 4th day back here, I was able to sit up in my wheelchair. We even took a picture to capture the moment, and I gave two thumbs up. What are you most excited to get back to now that you have completed therapy? My sweet family! Any recommendations you would have for patients out there looking to get rehabilitation? I would definitely recommend them to come here. I have already spoken to all my friends and family and let them know about you guys. It’s such a fabulous place. Mrs. Sunitsch has promised to visit us again as a guest in the future, and we are excited for that day to come. We are so blessed to have been a part of her journey and look forward to many more stories like hers to come! **Consent was received to post the above information prior to posting**
