October is National Physical Therapy Month! Regular physical activity is one of the most important things that you can do for your health. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym or purchase expensive equipment to meet the recommended physical activity guidelines. What’s important is to find leisure-time physical activities that you enjoy and do them regularly. If pain or a condition limits your ability to participate in activities you enjoy, or you want to reduce your risk ...for chronic diseases, enhance your fitness, and prevent injuries, consider adding a physical therapist to your health care team. Physical therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands-on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. Check out www.apta.org/national-physical-therapy-month to read more about Physical Therapy and how to raise awareness!

Happy National Family Day! The old saying goes, Families who eat together, stay together, but did you know they may also be reducing the risk of addiction? According to the National Center on Addiction, families who eat three or more meals a week together reduce a teen’s risk of using tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. That’s a fantastic outcome on its own and family bonding is just a bonus!... #NationalFamilyDay

This week we organized a thank you lunch meet and greet for the South Pasadena Fire Department. We had lunch from Panera Bread delivered to them before our arrival. We also gave them a little gift of coffee, hand sanitizer, masks, Unity Hospice pens and thank you cards. A small token of appreciation for all that they do for our community, especially during this crazy fire season!
